Hello there. I have a question that im desperate to know the answer or at least the imput of people who know about cars; Heres my situation.
My friend got his car stolen two days ago. The thiefs took out the front seats and the rims/tires as well as the cd player. The car is at a tow yard so he need to pay 185 dollars tomorrow before 5 to get it out. Heres where i come in; my friend asked me that if i wanted the car, he would give it to me but obviously i have to pay for the fee to take it out of the tow yard; as well as the things that the car will need: tires,rims, front seats and it also the ignition switch is broken so i have to repair that as well. Oh and also the smog check for when he does the transfer to me.
So my question is, is it worth it for me to get it out of there and then fix it and sell it? I've made some calculation of how much i would spend to get it fixed up and it comes out to 750+/-. The car is in okay condition and has about 20000 miles on it. I checked the Kelley blue book and the sell price for a car like that in fair condition is 2,150.
so i want to know if i could really sell that car for something at least close to that price?
