1994 Ford F-150.Have a whining sound in rear end. ?

Go to your auto parts store and buy a repair manual for your truck. Then check the fluid in your differential following the instructions in your manual. That's where to start.
 
sound like axel bearings going bad. you can replace the bearings with removing the rear end.
 
If the pitch of the whine varies with your speed, your ring and pinion gears are probably worn and need to be replaced. I strongly suggest you have your differential rebuilt by a professional shop. If the clearances aren't set correctly, you'll be doing it again within 12 months. Make sure you get a warranty for the work. You're looking at $900-1200 for the rebuild depending on what you need replaced.
