1994 CHRYSLER LE BARRON drives about 75 feet then it feels like its in neutral?

hello, i recently purchased a very nice 94 le baron with known transmission problems, before driving i checked the fluid wich appeared to be clean, however it was overfilled by about 1qt. i pumped about 3 quarts out through the dipstick and brought back to the proper level with +4 fluid, when i tried it again it has no reverse but will drive foward about 75 feet and then it feels like its in neutral again. the car is in really nice shap with about 125 k on it, being a electronic trans could it be a sensor ? fuse or even a plugged filter (i didnt drop the pan yet) i know these electronic transmissions have lots of electrical gremlins associated with them,
 
it will more than likely will be a plugged filter but if it is a plugged filter you will have a transmission problem because clutch material from the trans is breaking up and plugging the filter when you pull down the pan you will see the amount of material in the pan best bet right now is get some prices for rebuilt which will be in the neighbor hood of 2000-3000 dollars
