but engine will not turnover.? About 4 days ago I was driving on the freeway and all the electrical systems cut out for about 20 seconds - Stereo, headlights, dash etc (the car itself continued operating). As I was making my way to pull over they immediately came back on. I did not investigate other than making sure all the fuses were intact and not loose
Since then Ive driven the car with no problems until today. Even before I started my car the electrical systems were not working (i had to manually unlock my doors). When I tried to turn the key nothing happened except for a very faint, low intermittent chime (similar to when your car door is open, which my door was).
I popped to hood to check the terminal connections and with barely a tap my alarm made the beep-beep indicator noise that it had been reset (meaning it had regained power after having lost it).
From that point the electrical systems appeared to be working, except for the stereo, I could use power locks and windows however albeit maybe sluggishly. (Not enough power perhaps).
When I attempted to start the car i would hear a rapid clicking but no sounds of the engine even attempting to turnover.
So that's where I am, any help diagnosing the problem would be appreciated. I want to say it sounds like a fuse/electrical problem but I really don't know
Other Info: I had the starter rebuilt about 6 months ago, the battery is not brand new but I had it tested a couple months ago and it should be fine. The battery cables were replaced with the starter.
From what I'm seeing most of you are suggesting its a battery or battery rated issue. If this is true, would I be able to jump-start my car to confirm it is this rather than a short-circuit or blown fuse?
