I have a 93 Honda Civic EX with a D16Z6 engine and a automatic transaxle. A while ago it was have some fuel pump problems. When I turned the key to the on position I had to wait about five minutes for the fuel pump to prime ; until it did the CEL light would stay on, once it did the CEL went away. I replaced it and for a while it seemed to have fixed the problem. about a month and a half later it developed the same problem. After a while the fuel pump would not prime at all. I did the paper clip trick to see what code it was throwing, and it didn't blink at all, so code 0. I got a replacement ECU and had it tested in front of me, and it worked, but when I put it in my car, it made no difference. It is the same type as my old one (P28A51), so that isn't the problem. I'm starting to think that this might not be a ECU problem. All the fuses and grounds seem to be good. Any ideas?
When I turned it into on position, the CEL light would stay on, and I wouldn't hear it prime. As soon as I would hear it prime, the CEL would turn off and I could crank it as normal.
Key has been on for an hour, still won't prime or start.
