1993 Honda Accord won't start?

Hello last Thursday I started my car as usual and let it run for about fifteen minutes to warm up my car, so I could scrape my windows. After scraping my windows, I hopped in my car and put it in reverse. Once I put my car in reverse, it died. I tried to start it up again, but my car just cranked and it wouldn't turn over. All my electricals work, and my car makes a cranking sound when I turn the key...What is wrong with my car?

Someone please HELP!

the Honda Accords of that era have a history of main relay problems. The main relay is located inside the car, up under the driver's side of the dash. Typically the main relay, which controls the fuel pump and the fuel injection system fails when it gets hot. The problem is that the circuit board for the relay cracks over time and when it gets hot (such as from running the heater with the car parked) the crack expands and breaks the contact of the circuits. so when it stalled, you no longer had a complete circuit for either the fuel pump or for the fuel injection control.

first thing to do is to listen to hear if the fuel pump is running or not. When you turn the ignition key ON you should hear the pump run for about 5 seconds. its easier to hear if you open the fuel tank door and take the gas cap off, then have someone turn the ignition key to the ON position. the pump will sound like a small electric motor running or a buzzing noise. if you don't hear it then the chances are the main relay isn't working.

if you hear the buzz then the fuel pump works and you may have a problem with the fuel injectors not working. you should hear the fuel injectors click open and closed. they too are controlled by the main relay.

the main relay problem is extremely common on the 91-93 accords.

hope that helps
