1993 ford e-150 van with 5.0 idols up after a min and stays at a high rpm?

it starts good but after it idols for a min it makes a sucking sound then rev es up to a high rpm and stays there no mater what you do until you turn it off
 
Im not a ford guy to be honest, But to me it sound like you might want to by a Chevy. All buying choices aside. If its got a carb there may be something lodged in the butterfly ie. a small rock or a spring or it could just need a tune up. Im not a mechanic so Id get it checked by one.
