I have a 1992 Honda Accord with an automatic transmission. The car drives fine for the first 10 minutes or so, but then has difficulty shifting. Specifically, it seems to be shifting out of the lower gear, and then the engine revs before it shifts into the higher gear. Once in a gear it works fine until it is time to shift into the next gear. This happens between all gears. Stopping and putting the car into park for a few seconds seems to reset things such that it will work for a few more minutes. There are no error codes displayed on the dash. The check engine light is not on. Fluid is full and in good condition. I have had one mechanic look at it and he says he suspects the "drum" is cracked, which he says explains why the problem only happens after it heats up. He is recommending a complete transmission rebuild costing ~$1900.
