1992 ford ranger....is it worth it.......... help!?

me and my bf have been looking for a second car for him well actually a truck we found a guy that works with him is selling a 1992 ford ranger it is a v.6 2wheel drive 1992 ranger xlt short bed 88388 miles ......and that's about all we know except the guy says its in ok condition..has some body damage nothing major....but is it worth it ?he wants $1200 im lossed on this ..........what would u do? any advice would be helpful
does anyone know who many mile that a ford ranger nomally goes to?
 
I think it's a pretty good deal.
But take it for a test drive to your mechanic and make sure it doesnt have any engine/transmission problems
