I purchased the listed cables for my FE and they were the wrong ones. NAPA suggested going to a dealer, and i don't want to get ripped off. There is not just a pos/neg lead but a 3rd lead to what i believe is the wiring harness, how do i go about finding out how to get one of these special cables? would this be considered that Eddie Bauer edition that i have been seeing talked about?

Hmmmm, if it goes to a wiring harness you probably need the real ford part. Should be easy to find online for half of what the dealer would want though. Check ebay for starters, rockauto.com could have it too. A salvage yard would also be a good place to look, thousands of those trucks were made, shouldn't be too tough to find.

That being said, why do you need to replace the cables? Couldn't you get away with just doing the ends? Entire cables would be unusual, usually due to an accident or mishap under the hood.
