Sorry to say but our main mode of transportation is a 1991 Mazda MPV, it has 214,000 miles on it, and it has recently developed a distributor problem. There is a little slop in the distributor shaft and the rotor is hitting the cap, causing a power failure and making a lot of noise, go figure right? Well anyway a new distributor, with tax, costs $270 dollars, which we really can't afford right now. My question is this - Is there any way that I can replace the bushing, or bearing on the distributor shaft? I have a small arbor press and have done most of my auto repairs at home.
I wouldn't bother with it if I could afford another car, and this one looks good and runs great except for this new problem.
This car has the fule injected 300, 6 cylinder engine.
