1991 Ford Escort Wagon Failed NJ Inspection?

Calling all NJ mechanics!! My car failed today for the following:
Suspension- wheel rock
Brakes-automated test failed check rear brakes
Exhaust system leak

I am wondering generally how much I am looking at. I know its difficult to do without looking at it. I just wonder if I should fix it or just get something else. I was only looking to get a few more months out of it anyway. Unfortunately I didn't qualify for cash for clunkers because of the mileage. Let me know
 
If the car is in bad shape you'd be better off buying a newer one. Everything you need fixed is going to cost you a few bucks, not worth it if you plan on getting rid of it soon anyway. But if the rest of the car is still in good shape it may be worth doing the repairs and keeping it a little longer. Don't go rushing into a new car for the sake of having one. If your Escort is worth doing these small repairs than do it and keep it for a while. Only you know the condition of your car.
 
What you need is a brake job, exhaust system, and a suspension check and replacement plus a few front end parts. Cost..ball park close or better than a grand. Better to leave it and move up to a newer one since you were going to anyway. Maybe sell off some parts from the old girl good luck.
