1991 Dodge Dakota Performance?

Mopar 4Ever!

Ok, I have a '91 V8 Dodge Dakota 318 4x4 and I just added a Jet Performance chip to the ECM and it added about 15hp and a little low end torque. It now roasts both 31" tires for a good 7-10 feet when I step on it from a stop sign. The chip cost me $250, I have a couple hundred to spend. What else will give me more power for $2-300? Can ya put a 4 barrel carb on a 318? Any suggestions? Thanks alot =)

First of all to answer your question...add a cold air intake for about $200-$800, and it should give you about 10-50hp boost and a 15-50 lb ft. of torque boost. That is the cheapest way to tune uo your car.

Now......my sugesstion is to sell your old pick up truck for about $3700 and then buy a 1997-2000 honda civic. Civics are very easy and cheap to tune up. This is approx.how much money ya goona need.

1997-2000 honda civic with 80k-100k miles......$2000
cold air intake....$300
Front Brembo 4 piston brakes.....$4500
A set of high performance summer tires rated for 120+mph...... $600
Sub Total....$7400
Minus... $3700 from selling your old heavy/slow pick up truck.
Total.......$3700

hah told you, i had wrote you awhile back about the cold air intake, jet chip, and exhaust. so that chip worked good for you huh, did yall ever play tug of war

There are intakes available from edlebrock that will allow you to swap to a carb. I Think jet also has underdrive pullys that will help as well. A high flow air fliter and muffler could be done in that price range.

yes there's an intake available for that one but you wont be able to use the fuel injection on it if you go to a carburetor unit, you can go to a performance throttle body and up the horse power another 15-20 horses, that what i did to my latest project truck and so far its working really good, jegs had those on sale a while back, that will eat the rest of your 300 up real easy.good luck, http://jegsperformance.com
