I've got a Toyota 4Runner. 5speed manual, 22R 2.4L motor. Everything is stock apart from the truck running 33's.
The truck has 350k's on it, but the motor has been replaced with a Gem engine, sometime before I bought it 3 years ago.
Its dreadful on fuel. From a full tank, I get around 350 around town k's. The truck is only used for short trips, maybe 40k's return at the most.
I have 2 options.
1. Fit an aftermarket Weber carb.
2. Fit a EFi set up, off a Toyota Corona.
Has anyone done either of the conversions?
What do I need to do, to do a EFi conversion? Is it worth it? Will I need to change heads or is the cut away part for fuel injectors already there on the 1990?
I used to work in a mechanical workshop and I'm pretty clever with cars, so I can do all the work myself.
Which conversion will be the best option?
