1990 Toyota 4Runner 3.0L (Interference Engine)?

I just got a 1990 Toyota 4runner (3.0L)from a friend. He said he was driving down the hill and the timing belt broke as he was driving, so he left it there then towed it home with his truck. One web site says it is a interference engine, then two sites says its not. I hope its not, but not 100%. If anyone knows anything on the subject, please help shed some light on the issue....thank you
