It was fine, until my boyfriend let his irresponsible brother use it for two weekends in a row. We got a call at 12 a.m saying that it wouldn't start and that we would have to have it towed back to our house. When we got to the car, the catalytic converter was red hot and the car sounded like it had a blockage somewhere. He took the converter off and then it got really loud when we started it. He dumped the platinum out of the converter and drilled a hole threw it. Put that back on and though it's not loud anymore, it's still not moving. He says it might be the carburetor but he's not sure.
When he starts it up now, it makes this choking noise like something is blocked up. It starts and it's idle and after a while it starts purring good, but as soon as he steps on the accelerator it starts choking and sputtering again and won't drive. Then it'll cut off. Any ideas?
