1990 Ford Ranger Steering problem.?

I guess the top and bottom bushing on shot on both sides and the transmission bracket is nearly rusted out. It runs like a champ and only has 100K Miles on it. Its really given me no problems in the last 2 years Ive had it. Now is it worth getting the stuff fixed for about $600? I have an uncle that is pretty good with cars is this something we could do ourselves? I payed $900 for the truck.
 
if it still runs and drives good, yea id fix it because right now you cant go out and buy another vehicle that you would know as good as that one and that you could probably repair as cheap as that one,so yes i guess if it were mine id repair it and drive it until it dropped over from engine failure,good luck.
