I'm 16 and I've been looking for a car for a while. I have 1k dollars to spend and these are the two that Ive been able to find, and I'm wondering what the web thinks ill start with the Mustang GT
MUSTANG GT: 900 (obo?)
Its a 5.0 liter v8. I found it at the local mechanics shop and he wants to get rid of it. I took it for a test drive with my dad, and boy does it have one helluva engine. It was beast. But it has some problems such as the door handles are shot, the trunk has some trouble closing, and it had a small oil leak on one of the hoses. Both the mechanic and my dad and me (all with some experience) declared this a minor problem. The biggest buff with it was that it had quite a tilt to the right when i drove it. We think its because of flat tires but we believe that it also could be the ball bearings, and that could be a pain in the a$$. we are looking into that on friday
Now for the LaBaron
LEBARON TURBO 1000-900 bucks solid
1989 LeBaron Turbo Coupe 2.2 liter four cylinder engine. We found this car on a street near our appartment. We took it for a drive and the guy told us it needed shox in the back, a new bottle for the washer fluid, and it was leaking power steering fluid pretty bad. It drove ok, and everything but the AC worked well, and it had some power (nowhere near the mustangs) with front wheel drive and all that jazz. Both me and my dad dislike turbos, and they do burn out fairly quickly if im not mistaken...
SO that being said, my dad likes the LeBaron better, but we have to investigate the Mustang more which is my preferance (LeBarons are a bit of granny cars) we have a few friends who can do repairs without mechanics labor bills, so like what does everyone think is a better deal and how much would it cost to fix these problems?
