1989 toyota engine not firing?

i have a 1989 toyota pickup it was running great we took the bed off and were gonna build a wooden one....one day i went to start it and it wouldnt suck any gas i figured it was the fuel pump so i took it off and tested it....it was still good.....i could put gas in the injector and it would fire then it stopped doin that.....now all it will do is turn over....i looked at the distributor and it doesnt seem like its getting spark....could the distributor or coil pack have to do with the fuel pump and the engine not firing....or is it something else? please help me !!!!
