1989 Dodge Dakota won't run?

bought an old dakota to put in a tough truck competition and the only thing i have done to the truck is new plugs and wires, oil change, and put coolant in it. now it does not run. it ran just fine before all of that was done and it had no coolant at all in it and about 2 quarts of oil and the spark plugs were shot the wires were also shot any ideas?? truck will attempt to start and if it does stay running its at extremely low rpms and does not run long. it is not fuel injected has a carb
