1988 toyota corolla not starting?

i have a toyota corolla with carburetor. when im trying to start it, the engine will turn over but i cannot get the car to start. i have replaced the distributor cap and rotor button but it didnt change much. spark plugs are not getting spark. what could be wrong?
i checked the coil with ohm meter and compaired to a brand new one and the readings were the same
