1988 dodge dakota transmission problems?

i have a 1988 dodge dakota 4x4 3.9L V6 and everytime i accelerate or go up a hill, my transmission slips. it is fine at highway speeds and after it hits 2nd gear, only does it between 1st and 2nd. it is an automatic. i don't think my transmission is going bad because it doesn't do this all the time. could it be a vacuum hose that has come off or is cracked?
 
Have the tranny backflushed and put a new filter and fluid in it and see if that does it. If not you might need it adjusted.
