This arrangement throws no codes yet isn't kosher per the wiring diagram since the wires should go to the ECM. It came that way as a former GTE fleet vehicle and has ran fine for me since 1994. I was looking at ways to improve gas mileage when I noticed this oddity. Think I should leave well enough alone or try to rewire the leads to their proper location? Does anyone have a clue if this was a correction for an early ECM problem? The Chevy/GM forums' search features failed to reveal anything.
