We were driving down the road and it shut off it turns over but does't start. I changed spark plugs, coil distibutar still no spark.

Gas in it...?
If its not sparking then the HT (high tension) leads may be fucked , that's what sends the signal/spark what ever to the spark plugs , if there is gas in it then a gas pump me be blocked
or there could be dirt or what ever , water ETC stopping the spark plugs from sparking ( spray all of the HT leads with WD40 and also spray the connections for the fuel pump and also all over electrical s that could stop it from starting )
or the starting motor could be brooke
before you do all of this if i was you i would- get some-one to tow you in another car and bump start it
its hard to say what it is if haven't seen it

or there may not be enough power in the battery
