I recently bought a 1987 Toyota 4WD Pickup. I have one problem and another question. Okay , my problem is when I am going up a hill while shifting from third to fourth, or fourth to fifth I can press the accelerator just about down to the floor and it stutters. What could be wrong there? And my other question is, What would be the Cheapest way to add a little or a lot of horsepower to it?

for added horsepower try changing the spark plugs if needed. and replace the air filter every year or for the most horse power get a K&N Filter... [ you can wash them every year or so instead of having to buy a new one. and when going up hill then long shift..

Going uphill, shifting up-gears is never the thing to do. You need to down-shift to save your motor and your transmission from having to work so hard. The poor little truck is 22 years old, what kind of horsepower do you really expect from a nearly worn out motor? It's probably a 4 cylinder and by trying to make it behave like an 8, you are tearing it down more.
