1987 Toyota 22RE fuel injected starts up and dies?

Alright, i have a 1987 Toyota 4x4. it has a 22RE fuel injected motor..it was able to run, but it was running rich, and idling pretty eratic..and then now..it only starts up..and dies. after like 5seconds. and i been trying to figure it out for days, im going nuts! help!
 
Try changing the fuel filter, it's cheap and easy and if the filter is more than a year old it could be plugged.

If not you have to determine if it is a fuel problem, but it sounds like one. You need to figure out if it is not enough fuel or too much. Then see if the fuel pressure regulator is working or leaking.

I would change the fuel filter first.
