After a week of of repairing the the blown gaskett, I finally got to the first start up, the car will run anywhere from 5 to 15 minutes and then abrubltly shut off and won't restart for another half an hour. My neighbor says I have a bad sensor somewhere. Great, but what sensor on that old car causes that ? I never messed with any carb or choke settings. I have a sensor that is attached to a wire that goes to the ECM on the air cleaner pack ( thats where the ecm is located on this car not under the seat like a normal car) It is about the diameter of a 1/4 in. bolt and looks like it is made of brass about 2 inches long on the drivers side of the engine. It looks like a "Blasting cap". I dont recall removing this from any place but it has to go some where. any Idea's would make me a very smart Uncle who is doing this crapola for my neice for free, because her dad is a $h!t Head. Right now I look like an idiot too. Help me out. And yes I have a Chiltons and it doesn't mention anything about it.
