Our son's Chevy Blazer 2 door needs the regulator replaced.

He took off the panel, and it seems that the regulator and/or motor is riveted. He doesn't know how to get inside the metal panel, and "I" sure don't! lol

This doesn't seem to be an easy job for a 16yr, and would greatly appreciate if someone could explain to him on how to do this.

He is VERY mechanically inclined. He has already replaced valve cover gaskets and many other items in his truck.

A window regulator is not the job for even a smart 16 year old. No insult intended. Its perhaps an example of inexperience even for a smart 16 year old. Those windows of that era were cranky (little inside joke there) and very tough to fix.
The General Motors windows of that era had a large problem with the fact that if you roll the electric window up and press the up button to long, the window would push itself off track and damage the whole window system (And vice versa, going down) They were never easily accessable and tough to fix.
However, I wish you luck.

The rivets need to be drilled out. When you reinstall the motor, it should be riveted but I have used screws and nuts. Good luck.
