i got stranded earlier today when i went to start the ignition on my caddy and the ignition wouldn't turn due to some unknown steering column locking problem. as a last resort, i angrily shook the ever loving bejesus out of the steering column whilst turning the key and somehow, miraculously, the key turned and the car started. since then, out of about 3 hours of testing it total, i have only been able to successfully unlock the steering mechanism 3 times. obviously, i can't rely on that so i can't drive it. anyone have any suggestions before i call the repair shop?
