...filtor, TFI, Carbortaor cap, and it? shuts off with out warning while driving and then will not restart until it sits for awhile. It looks like I am not geting any spark from the coil wire and the wire is new, any ideas?

Sounds like the warmup coil is keeping closed when the car is warming up. This then causes the car to burn rich and just stall out.

Also, this car has one of the first computers in it. It might need reprogramming.

In my '88 Bronco (5.0L), this was caused by the ICM, or Ignition Control Module. Apparently, this was a pretty common problem, because when I asked at a place, the guy knew right away what I was talking about and even claimed to keep extras in his truck. Regardless, it's located on the distributor, and I think it's a relatively easy fix, especially if you've already gotten this far on your own.

But yeah, it had something to do with the heat, and especially any moisture and that causing it not to connect/work properly.

Had similar problems with Crown Vics before. Problem was a defective ignition module. Routine check on module didn't indicate problem because the module operates correctly most of the time. Fixed problem by installing a used module at minimal cost.
