1986 1.8 liter pontiac sunbird. it wont crank back?

started skippin. shut it off. wont crank back. i had fire to the coil but none coming out. i replaced coil. still wont crank. i tried a coil wire and that made no diff. as well. its still in time. i scraped the dist.cap and rotor button. checked all my wires and checked for any lose connections. I'm stumped. i will try a new cap and button tomorrow. any help is appreciate
