Just bought an 85 intruder 750 nice bike for one hellofa deal! needs TLC and rebuilding so im starting from the ground up just like when i was a kid rebuilding ford trucks. so im looking for rebuild information as well as aftermarket parts that will make this bike a head turner. when shes rebuilt im gonna ride her for a while then turn it over to the wife and build myself a new one. any information would be appreciated and will reciprocate when possible.

Thanks in advance !

Any 'bolt on' aftermarket accessories, like seats, grips, bars, pegs, mirrors, exhaust, and light, listed for the Intruder 800 or S50 will fit your 750. No one makes an aftermarket rear wheel, because the shaft drive and drum brake make the rear wheel unique to the Intruder. As for engine parts, no one makes aftermarket performance parts for it at all (no cams, valves, heads, pistons- nothing), so your only choice is to rebuild the motor using dead stock parts. And for this you have to get parts from Suzuki. Most folks find that an engine rebuild is just not worth it on these bikes, as the price of the rebuild is far higher than the book value of the bike. But if you do all the labor yourself it is probably worth it. EBC and Barnett can hook you up with things like clutch parts and brakes.
Why does it need a rebuild? If it is smoking and needs rings, or the gaskets are dried out and leaking, that is one thing. But if the motor tossed a rod and is blown, then the internal clearances are so tight that the engine cases are usually damaged and a new motor is called for.
As for turning it into a 'head turner', check out the member photo galleries at 'intruderalert.com' for some ideas. Some folks have bobbed theirs, others have chopped theirs, so there is a wide range of styles.

thanks for some good advice. the engine isnt going to be rebuilt i was told that she ran fine with only 35k on her but she hasnt been taken care of which brings me to wanting to rebuild her. stripping her down to paint the frame. but i would like a bigger tank 3 gallons just doesnt cut it when you on a nice cruise :lol4: thanks again for the advice

no one makes a larger tanks for the Intruder- one guy did, but he no longer responds to emails.
Don't go too nuts with the rebuild- these bikes are very inexpensive, and less popular than the later 800cc version. But they are good, solid, reliable bikes, so enjoy your low- cost toy and ride safe.

good advice drbob but i have the itch now! lol looking into a springer front end with a slight rake. the tank im probably going to have to have fabed but thats ok i have the vision in my head now of what shes gonna look like!!! where can i post my pics?
