BTW I am in Ontario, but my car is exempt from the Emissions Testing cause of the year...thx
I got a 1984 Lincoln Town Car, 302ci CFI, Single exhaust. Both catalytic converter "tubes" broke off and had them removed and welded shut. Than the car lost all power, witch im guessing is the catalytic converters are plugged. Would anything happen if I just remove the catts and put straight pipe in? Will the lack of back pressure make it harder to start?

a car that old it should be fine. back then they were using old designs of engines and just adding stuff to them. it not like the engine was designed to have the cats.

There are many '84 vehicles running around without converters on them, or gutted out converters at best - with no driveability issues that I've heard of.
