IM TRYING TO BUY THIS CAR THAT GOT FLOODED FROM HURRICANE IKE

WOULD THIS THIS CAR BE A BAD CHANCE TO GET IT

WOULD THE FLOODED AFFECT IT EVEN THOUGH IS A 1978 AND THERE
IS HARDLY ANY WIRING LIKE CAR THIS DAYS

It is not so much the wiring that will be the problem. If water got into the motor somehow; say through the intake manifold or exhaust it could have rusted the entire engine and it would then be seized up. This would cause you to have to either rebuild the engine- about 2,000$ if you are doing it your self or buy a new engine that could cost anywhere from 2,000$ to 6,000$ if you are doing it yourself. Wiring may be a problem but re wiring a car is no big deal it is just to what extent is the car flooded. Also with it being in such a tropical are it may have got flooded on the interior which may cause mold and cause you to have to buy a new interior, that could cost anywhere from 500$ to 2,000$. It really just comes down to how much money you want to put into the car and what kind of condition the car is in. I hope this helped you.
