I'm looking for a bike and I was always a fan of the kawasaki triples. Theres A guy who wants about a grand for one. I was wandering if the 250s are pretty fast and have a lot of torque. And if it will be big enough fer someone who weighs about 230.

Are you sure it's a 250? Never heard of that one. 500 & 750, yes. Realistically, a 250 2-stroke will be like riding a 400 4-stroke. If this is a first bike, it's probably not a bad choice. Good luck.

I also didn't know they made a 250 triple.

Triples are bad news, especially Kawasaki triples. They are remarkably unreliable and short-lived because the middle cylinder doesn't cool as well as the outer two. And ANY 30 year old Kawasaki is going to be a lot of trouble, just one thing after another. As a 'collector's item' I could see it, but as a daily rider it will just break your heart.

Assuming that what you're looking at is a 1976 Kawasaki KH 250, those old triples are a lot of fun to ride and have more than adequate power for tooling around town. Don't expect much more than 90 MPH as the flat out top speed though. And remember that if it's stock you'll be dealing with far more regular maintenance than a modern four stroke bike. If you've never dealt with setting timing, adjusting points, or tuning carburetors, be prepared to become an expert in them all in record time as you perform the necessary chores to keep her running well.
