1975 yamaha xs 650 gas tank?

hi i need help will a yamaha xs 650 gas tank fit on a 1981 xs 650 yamaha thanks to all who can help jim.
 
I do not remember any tank changes in the production run of the bike, but the best thing is to take measurements, or just take and make sure the width of the tank is right, so it sits on the rubber cushions and into where it goes, then make sure the bolt holes line up. Whalla done.
