1970 Cadillac headlamp minder - how to fix?

On top of the front fenders of this car there are headlamp indicators. They allow the driver to see if the front lights and turn signals are working. Ours don't work - haven't since we bought the car a year ago. How do you repair them?
 
There is a fiber optic [like fishing line] that runs from the bulb area to each indicator, make sure each is in place! Now check the indicator lens for dirt or paint!

Paint the lenses black' set back, drive, and don't worry about them!
You probably won't be able to guy new parts, and the old ones are probably corroded beyond repair! Then watch the indicator on the dash. I am asuming there is one there---
