1968 Ford C4 automatic transmission fluid flow direction?

the old school way i was told was to start the car while cold put in it neutral with the parking brake on of course, then go out under the car and feel the tubes, hoses, whatever the fluid travels thru to the cooler, the one that gets warm first is the one where the fluid is coming from the trans to the cooler.
 
I want to know which way the fluid enters the cooler at the bottom of the radiator, without making a huge mess on the driveway
nevermind why just tell me how to find out
