1966 Ford Mustang question?

I was driving my Mustang for the first time in a while, and it ran fine for a good half hour. When nearly approaching my destination at the next red light the car puttered and stopped...then I started it....then next light same same...and again and again unitl I finally got it home...could this be a problem with the choke?
 
almost every time this happens ,its electronic, first check your points ,all wire connections at the distributor and coil should be all tight, not loose or sloppy. check these out first then try it,if no good then go to fuel etc etc.
