18 Inch Wheels

I have an '07 Ultra. I'm thinking about changing out my stock 16 inch wheels for chrome 18 inch wheels. I do a lot of long distance riding. I'm getting opposing opinions - some say I won't notice any diffference in the ride, others are telling me not to do as I it will change the ride totally. If you've made the switch, I'd appreciate any input.
 
I switched just the front on my 08 to an 18, Love it.. Rides beautiful.. I'm gonna also credit the E3 for a lot of that.. But I'm glad I did it..
Rear is an E3 - 160/90/16
 
I have 18 front and 16 rear and E3s and the bike rides better than ever.

I don't think an 18 rear would make the ride really any harsher but I can't say for certain.
 
In my experience the 18" combinations still handle very well compared to stock 16" so if you like the look I wouldn't hesitate with that combination.
 
Did it on a lowered Fatboy and did not notice a comfort change but in theory you are losing some sidewall deflection if you stay with tires the same overall height that you are taking off and losing some load carrying also. But if i were to change my wheels on my 08 FLHX I would change to a 18 front for sure and I don't know about the rear, maybe, maybe not.
