18" in a Honda Civic EX 1998?

I'm thinking to put a Chrome 18" wheels low profile tires in a Civic EX 1998 Automatic. Is that true that it could damage my tranny, engine, shocks, etc, in a fast way? Are they really heavy for this small car?Help please!
 
Those are little too big. They will probably rub the wheel well when you turn or go over a bump they will hit the top of the well. Besides rubbing your tires down in wierd spots it could cause your shocks/frame to slam down too hard, being that there is no room for the tires to cushion the ride. You could get the car raised up, but that kind of defeats the look youre going for I think.
