This is so stupid, I'm 17 and now I'm getting stupid letters in the mail saying "Enjoy our new low rate platinum credit card blah blah blah" and I have to this date recieved about 10 of these fucking junk mails, and I even get phone calls now directed to me about purchasing credit cards and starting up bank accounts, I guess this is the time that you think about it but still, I already have a fucking bank account and I aint even old enough to get a credit card. I even said to one of the salesmen "Tell your manager that James Peppitt is 17 and cannot even own a credit card your moronic asshole, and tell any other banks/junk people the same thing" then he hung up.

The junk mail phase has started

Yeah true freak em out, the other option is to get my step-dad to answer the phone when the sales-man calls, he's gets EXTREMELY abusive to them so I think will I get him to answer from now on :)

No, but we're starting off the same way id did.

Work out of the house, keep your day job. Or don't work at all.

We have the machinery, and the tools, that's basically all we need. That and a free graphics engine.

From there we work up to bigger stuff. In order to get the required funds, we sell out stuff over the net, we'll use Q3A's piracy prevention system, and promote our games using well placed ads on PCGameWorld, IGN, Sonic-Cult, etc.

The ads will cost a fair bit but will pay for themselves eventually (Besides Sonic-Cult which has $10/month charging and a forum community with our initial target group). We'll also find a waqy to get a loan.

FYI Atari started out the same way, just a bit bigger, much of my startup procedures are taken out of Nolan Bushnell's and id's books.

Yeah I'm thinking of joining the Royal Marines or the army as a sniper :) but it all depends on what I wanna do after college lol (I live in UK lol)

that'l be really interesting. very ambitious. i dont know if you've heard about the book masters of doom. it talks about ID in its early years with carmack and romera. building from scratch just like you want to.

its a great read anyways. look into it.

I've read it four times. There's a lot of stuff you miss every time you read it. It reads like a graphic novel.

I'd personally recommend it anyone not even into gaming, there's no denying just how funny John Romero is in there .

I know, man, I'm not personally worried.

I've never done outbound telemarketing but I do tech support and I think there is no reason to be an asshole on the phone. When I used to get telemarketing calls, yay no-call list!, I'd joke with them and ask them about the pr0n they had for sale or something. That gets the point across and makes them hate their life a little bit less.
I personally don't see why people get SO upset over junk mail, despite it being a waste of resources all ya gotta do it throw it away. It's very simple to handle it, not like there's anthrax in each piece..
