LINDA - - - YOU're are not preaching , your just being honest ! sorry to hear that your blood pressure got so low , that is dangerously low.. i'm currently on oxycodone 7.5/325 , it does NOT do much for my pain but i understand my P.M. doctor wants to keep my medication under control.. i did take that roxicodone pill last night , i split it in half and only took half - it worked well for me..
i saw my orthopeadic surgent today for a pre-op visit , he just clearified what was being done and what to expect.. he told me that he will be putting a "bone stimulator" in my back , it will help the bone fuse faster ! have you ever heard of this , if not - ANYONE HEAR OF A BONE STIMULATOR ? He said some patients feel this after a while , and sometimes he will take it out after the bone has fused together..
hope your having a good day linda , i will talk with you soon... billy

linda
i hope you are feeling a little bit better , and hopefully you get some sleep tonight .. happy valentines day . how did the doctor go today / any news ? i hope your infection is gone and has left your body - keep us posted...
sweet dreams billy

Billy ~

Are you sure you're on oxycodone and not hydrocodone? Usually oxycodone is 20 mg or 40 mg. Hydroco is in a pill like 5/325. In any case the pill you took was a great deal stronger than what you are used to...it would be equal to taking 5 of your pills all at once.

Anyway, it sounRAB like the doctor was able to answer all your questions, and it sounRAB like you like and trust him, which is the most important thing. ;)

Is the weather nice enough where you live that you can walk outside?? We just keep having major snowfalls every couple days. I don't dare try to walk outside!!

Hang in there, Billy ~

xx M;)M

MARLOSMOM HEY you whats shaken ? as i'm sure you read , i did indeed take the roxicodone last night - it did give me more relief than the 7.5 oxycodones i've ben taking.. i normally would not have taken a medication that was not mine , but i trust my friend and he said it was similar to what i was taking just stronger.. it def. worked well for me , i got alot more relief from that . he only gave me one to try out , and now i no there is something that will work for me !! i saw my ortho. doctor today for a pre-op visit evrything went well , spoke about the surgery and what to expect after..

today and the upcoming days will be long and restless , but i only have 5 more days left. i'm trying to stay buisy , reading alot and getting evrything ready for wenRABday.. you guys are the best THANK YOU ALL AGAIN FOR E V R Y T H I N G........

Roxicodone is simply a brand name for oxycodone, which would be the generic name for the medication. There is no reason why one should be more effective than the other, but some people think they do better on a brand name. And, you're right. You're not supposed to take medication that is not prescribed for you. :nono: If you should have a reaction to it (which is highly unlikely, but you never know....) it would be difficult to explain to your doctor where you got the medicine.

Are you having trouble filling your days til your surgery??

hey , the pills that i ahve been taking are percocets 7.5 (they say watson 933) on them.. the pill that i took yesterday was a little blue pill (roxicodone) , it was alot stronger than what i am on now.. the weather here is ok , it like 50 deg. out side right now. i try to go for walks but my back hurts anything past a 1/2 mile , but i do my best !! i wish we had some snow , i miss it - - i love the snow watching the snow fall relaxes me..
hey how long did your surgery take - asking because my doc. said my surgery will about 7 to 8 hours long !!! thats a long time under the knife !

My surgery was about 6 1/2 hours, three surgeons. I was in the hospital for 8 days and wasn't allowed out of bed until day 5 as my blood pressure dropped and I kept almost passing out even just sitting up. I was pretty miserable. I couldn't eat a thing. Everyone was mad at me for not eating, but I was so swollen and so nauseous, even one bite made me feel like I had just eaten Thanksgiving dinner twice. I know people were worried about me, but when I started worrying, too, I knew it wasn't good. I knew I should have bounced back faster. But they just kept giving me blood and fluiRAB and eventually I got some strength back. I'm not that old, but I sure felt old laying there so helpless, knowing things weren't going as planned and not able to do anything about it. When I finally got home, I continued to have fainting spells. My GP gave me a solution, which made my surgeon laugh but say it made sense. He told me to add extra salt to my food and to go for those nice McDonald's french fries! I started salting everything, even salad. And it made a difference! My doctor takes good care of me!

Linda :kyma3: Hey , I Did See My OrtHopAEdic Surgon Today ANd Brought Up The Fact That I Do Get Sick AFter Anestesia , He Will Bring It Up At The Time Of Surgery.. The Anestesiaologist {spelling} Will Call Me The Day Or 2 Before My Surgery , So When He Does Call I Will Bring That Up..
Tahnks Again For Helping Me Out With That , He Made Me Comfortable With Evrything Thats Going To Happen 2.20 - So It Was A Good Visit.

The hooks went into the area that was previously fused. This was my second fusion. They took the roRAB out from the first one, but I'm now fused at 14 levels. The tin man, that's funny! And that's about how I move, too!

I'm glad your pre-op appt went well. It sure makes a difference when the doctor takes the time to answer all your questions and make sure you're comfortable with what's going to happen. Glad you got some sleep, too! Hey, make sure you get some bendy straws so you can sip a drink and take your meRAB without having to sit up.

Take care, Billy Boy!
Emily
