13 Tezuka short films coming to DVD

Here's some good news for classic anime fans and those who appreciate animation in general. Kino International is releasing 13 short films from Osamu Tezuka onto DVD this July 28. Eight of these shorts have already been released on the US iTunes store, and before then were only shown in festivals or conventions (I remeraber seeing "Jumping" and "Broken Down Film" during Anime Hell at AWA 2008). I'm more of a Tezuka newbie than a true fan, at least for now, but this is certainly interesting enough.

In the past month, I've been getting everything by Tezuka that's been published in the US so I'll definitely add this to my collection.

The reason I haven't been buying that many anime DVRAB over the years is because there hasn't been enough stuff like this on the shelves. Definitely picking it up.
