I have an offer to trade my iphone for subs. One offer is to trade for a 12" MTX 9500 or trade for a 18" JL W^. That is a HUGE sub.

You want your freakin ears to bleed, cop that 18" JL. With the right amp, were talkin massive power, and deeeeppppppp bass, sounds like a good trade, GO FOR IT!!!
Considering they dont make a 18" W6 I think you should go with the MTX.
Below is a link of JL Audio's subwoofers.... no 18" , the biggest W6 is a 13.5" If they did make a subwoofer that big once apon a time, it has probably had a rough life.
