12 Months To Go To The Biggest Rematch In Film History!

This week it is exactly a year since the release of Casino Royale. The film is now the 6th biggest grossing film at the UK box office and proved that the Bond franachise is still far from dead in the water. But this time next year 007 will go head to head with Harry potter for the second time. So who will emerge as the box office champ? In 2002 Die Another Day was released a couple of weeks behind Chamber Of Secrets and just before Lord Of The Rings:The Two Towers. These two huge movies were expected to swallow up the Bond film but it still held its own and got a couple of weeks at number one. So will Mr Craig's second Bond film compete with Mr potter's sixth and penultimate advenure this time next year?

when you said biggest rematch, i was expecting Freddy vs Jason 2!

Unless they are both released on the same day, i think both will do the business. Bond and Harry Potter have built such a huge fanbase that the films would have to be terrible for them to flop.

The cinema chain I work for is predicting Bond will come out on top next year... although only just. Remember, Potter won't have the publicity from a book launch around the same time as it did this year. Casino Royale did phenominally well. I think we've put Indiana Jones as third.

One of the big hooks for Casino was Bond's vulnerability in love, which we know he can't recreate going forward. I'm not sure the next one will be as big.
