12 month old son not eating solids yet?????????

My son is 12 months and still not eating solids. when i asked the Dr about last appt, she said he is just not ready. I have tried to feed him all different types of textures, rusks, biter bisquits and each time he gags and throws up. This happens every single time. I am just wondering if other babies started solids this late and if anyone who has been through this has any advice or ideas i can try. thanks Vanessa
