1198 CO2 sensor capped

I just bought a 2009 Ducati 1198, noticed a check engine, because the bike is under warranty I brought it to local Duc dealer. They found out that the second CO2 sensor was missing. I guess the person I got it from had aftermarket pipes but changed it to stock. My dealer told me I should not ride it with the second CO2 sensor being capped. Anybody knows if this is true, the new CO2 sensor costs $300 and I ordered it but the weather is so nice I can't wait to ride. Could I damage anything while the second CO2 sensor is capped? thanks,

Damn man. Did you pay that price for the factory o2 sensor? I would have sold you one of mine or their might be guys on here that would have gave you one to get it out of their garage. Most people end up getting rid of them once they put slipons or full systems on.

Call the guy up, he probably has the CO2 sensor in a drawer, or in his toolbox. He probably didn't realize there was a second or he was just plain lazy.
