1098 Race setup Changes

Hi hope all going well with the set up and racing. I have reached the end of my money line with the Ducati and racing this year and am having to sell the bike. If you know anyone in the UK who wants a 1098 race bike let me know.

Damn, out of money so fast? At least tell us how it went with the bike and racing?

I'm getting ready to pull the engine and start working on it. That should be a pretty penny but might at least get it semi-comptetive in the non-twins classes. Also, the swedes are coming out from Ohlins next week for the GP and are supposed to be bringing goodies and info for the 1098.

Mag wheels look like a different story, the 16.5's seem quite a ways out.

I weigh about 225 without clothes so figure 240 in race gear. To get the correct sag in front I tried 11's in the front. The springs are too short so they neede spacers. One spacer failed and I had to correct the problem. I went with 10.5's in the front (They come stock with 10's on the Ohlins). I went from a 24 to a 26 spring in the rear. The sag is way better and the bike feels a fair amount stiffer. I don't get nearly as much dive in the front in hard braking than I did with the stock springs. I also have the compression cranked all the way to the limit. My 999s is actually set up with an 11 in front and the thing doesn't dive much at all on the track. Look at my pictures closely and you will see how far the zip-ties are compressed on the fork tube. I get nice travel, but nowhere near bottoming out. This works well for me considering my weight and riding style (Aggressive).
