and am using compent cables from my 20gig ps3. There is no HDMI port on my tv. How can i get it to run in 1080i or 720? it is only runnin on 480 i think. Is it because of my component cables? The blu-ray display at bestbuy is so much clearer and nicer than mine right now. It just sorta looks like regular HDTV. Would this work??

I heard somewhere that the components will only allow a certain resolution? Can anyone shed some light on this for me. Thanks guys

you could go to www.firefold.com and get an HDMI to DVI cable for like $10 or get an DVI to HDMI adaptor then a regular HDMI cable from there. Don't noe if that will solve the problem but that is how you will get your best picture.

Component cables can go up to 1080p and there's little difference in quality from component to hdmi. The composite cables that came with ps3 only allow 480i. Go into your ps3 display settings and set up your configurations to component if you have the cables so you can go into HD resolutions.

It is currently running 1080i.
